The general theme of the quote book is an exploration of the mindset of the band Death Grips using select lyrics from their music. They are a band known for cryptic lyrics that express the singer's struggle against himself and the world around him. They focus on themes of individualism, drug abuse, occultism, various mental illnesses (paranoia is a common one) and issues he has with modern society

The art direction for the book is a Dadaist collage style, as it complements the theme and overall style of the band. The song titles/page titles are cut out of magazine articles with each letter coming from a different source text with varying rotations for texture. The titles are made up of a serif-sans-serif hybrid font called Dead History.

The imagery consists of pictures found in magazines collaged together to recreate some of the more descriptive text or to further enhance lyrics that are typed digitally.
